Ive thought a long time about writing this review, but Ive been frequenting Shutterbug for over a year now, and Ive had bad experiences almost every time Ive been there. Customers should feel comfortable asking questions without being made to feel like an idiot. Seriously, you think I shoot film and dont have an understanding of film speed? Its a shame shutterbug hires people who act as gatekeepers to such a fun & vibrant community.
#THE SHUTTERBUG PORTLAND OREGON ISO#
This same employee once attempted to mansplain ISO to me when I was trying to buy film. I was confused, so I just let him take it. When I brought said film into the store, the salesman (short, faux hawk) told me they could not send it off to be processed, but took my film from me before I could ask for it back to be processed somewhere else. Since, then we've expanded across Oregon over the years. They told me on the phone that they were unable to do that in store but could send it off to have someone else do it. The Shutterbug opened its doors for the first time in Salem's Lancaster Mall in 1971. For example, I called them once to ask about getting some film processed that I had pushed a couple stops. The Morgan Building is an office building located in downtown Portland. The salesmen (yeah, its all dudes) are always rude & condescending, and will straight up give you false information. The Shutterbug is a photo shop in Oregon located on Southwest Washington Street. Dont bother coming here if youre a woman or have literally any clarifying questions.
